Somatic Experiencing practitioner in Brussels and Leuven
I'm Amir Alon, a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner (SEP) and certified somatic coach. I see people in person around Leuven and Brussels or online by video. Sessions are in English, French or Hebrew. Before this work I studied mathematics and spent many years in tech. I was born in Israel and I live in Belgium.
What Somatic Experiencing is
Somatic Experiencing® (SE) was developed by Dr. Peter Levine. It is a body-based approach to working with stress and trauma. One of its central ideas is that protective responses can stay active after a difficult experience. In sessions we pay attention to sensations, emotions and impulses and explore them gradually, so that a different response becomes possible.

Who comes to see me
Often people come when pressure at work has been going on for a long time. Some are close to burnout or slowly coming back from one. Others have talked about the same pattern for years and still tense up when it shows up again. Periods of change bring people too, like a move to a new country or a reorganisation at work. Sometimes the body stays on alert long after things have calmed down.
How a session works
We start with something you are experiencing now: a difficult conversation, pressure at work or a reaction you keep having. As you talk, I may invite you to notice your breathing, tension or contact with the chair and floor. You decide what to explore and when to pause.
A session lasts 50 minutes. We meet in person around Leuven or Brussels or online by video. There is no physical touch. You stay seated, clothed and in charge of the pace. There is no package and no long-term commitment. You can pause or stop at any point.
I offer somatic coaching. It does not replace medical diagnosis or psychological treatment and sessions can take place alongside care you already receive.
